Founded in 1962 and incorporated in 1979, the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra has evolved to become a 70-member semi-professional orchestra with a full time core including The Atlantic String Quartet, it's resident ensemble. Together with the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Philharmonic Choir, the NSO family comprises some 350 individuals and is by far the largest single employer of professional musicians in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
